Weekend Links // 9.26

Goodness, it has been a minute since I have published a post here! I’ve missed it, so I’m bring back Weekend Links along with some posts sprinkled in here and there. I want to do a post on my experience at a few local businesses I love, some recipes I’m trying, and lots, lots more. If there is anything you want to see on here, please let me know! I love fresh ideas, and especially love hearing from all of you!

To know me is to know I LOVE football season, but specifically Friday night lights! I always loved cheering and cheered my entire life from five years old through college, and to no surprise was “Most Spirited” my senior year of high school. Friday nights are more than just football, Friday nights are a southern ritual that bring the school community together and I love seeing all the happy spirit! We had an away game Friday night in Nashville, so Matthew, Sarah, and I went as soon as Sarah got out of school! I love seeing Caroline do what she loves most! She has always been happiest on the sideline and she truly loves her school! With all that said, I am always collecting our school color…RED! So you’re in luck if you too have a school that’s RED. I’m linking all my favorite red pieces below and cannot wait to wear red ALL week for spirit week! Now let’s Beat McCallie!!

School Spirit … RED

Fall is here! I have a hard time shopping for fall clothes because I am such a summer girl, but I have been able to find some cute pieces to get me excited about the cooler weather! I did a big try on yesterday, but putting red together is the most important fashion quest on the list at the moment! Don’t worry, I’ll be pulling together all sorts of outfits everyday this week because we have three fall festivals to go to starting with Shaw Fest tomorrow night… but all in all my favorite will be the RED I pull together for this Friday night! I love our school and do love the school spirit of it all! GBR!!

So … not sure if you all have read Elin Hilderbrand’s new book, The Academy, but I HIGHLY recommend this new book! Wow , so interesting! A friend in Charleston went to a book signing and Erin, the author, confirmed the book (which she co-wrote with her daughter Shelby who is now at University of Miami and a graduate of St. George’s), is based off Shelby’s own experience even though they created a fictional school, Tiffin. The book includes some real life issues they had with the head master plus lots more juicy issues! Highly recommend as a fun fall read! You can find it HERE.

Ok, I think that is all for this weeks edition of Weekend Links. We were suppose to go to Winston Salem to the Wake Forest / Tech game straight from Nashville, but decided to post pone our official Wake visit. I’m so glad we made that decision because we have all enjoyed a day and night at home! Regardless, we still love Tech and Wake (and wow - what a game)! and can’t wait to head back to Winston during basketball season. As for tonight, we’re resting up for a fun week ahead with festivals and all the many events that come with McCallie ~ Baylor spirit week. GBR!!!!
